Punic tomb unearthed in Sardinia
A Punic tomb, dated to between the second century BC and first century AD, containing a skeleton and two vases, has come to light after a violent sea storm lashed the small seaside resort of Chia (near ancient Bithia) in the Sardinian province of Cagliari on saturday.
The site itself was discovered in the 1920's when some ruins and its necropolis were revealed following heavy storms.
The materials from the recently discovered tomb were made available to the Superintendent who will examine them for a more precise dating.
